A new party dress

Mommy bought be a cute new little dress for me to wear to my cousin Lilly's fourth birthday party today.

Dec 29, 2008...growing right along

My two week doctor's appointment was today. I've gained 8 ounces and now weigh 8 lbs 1 ounce and have added 1/4" in height. I barely even cried when the nurse took blood from my heel. Mom was quick to put my pacifier in my mouth, so I was asleep even before the nurse was finished taking blood samples from my heel.

Hi, Steve,
What an earthshaking experience -- to meet for the first time the lovely little one belonging to you and Jen. It was such a tender moment to see you bundle her up and then allow me to hold her on her very first day. Such an unforgettable treasured moment, and you know I do so thank you. I did not expect to do anything but see her for a minute and then allow the two of you to rest, so this was such a gift.
I thought of Abby all night and wondered what the nurse told you about her adorable little breathing snorts...they are so inexperienced...they need to learn how to breathe, how to swallow, how to eat, how to deal with lights, noises, etc. It must be so utterly befuddling to them when first arriving. I wondered if she had just eaten and perhaps the nourishment had not been completely digested yet? The nurse said that she thought it was nose stuff. What is today like for the two of you? I know how tired you are so will give you time until you get home, so let me know if there is something you need and I will try and run it over. I need to get my inspection sticker today but other than that, I should be able to drive without the police chasing me.
LOve,
mom,Mimi

We finally have another granddaughter. Abby Grace was born 12/12 at 4:37a.m. She, of course, is beautiful. She weights 7lbs and 7 ozs and is 20 ¾ inches long. Jennifer went into the hospital at 7:30 Thursday morning with no physical signs of being ready to deliver Abby. However, the doctor thought it was about time, because it was10 days after her due date. After receiving the medication to begin the inducing process, Jennifer started to respond. Fortunately, Jennifer has done yoga and is very experienced in breathing and muscle control. From 3:15 a.m. until delivery she was in the wind breaking or little boat pose: pushing and breathing. Steve did a great job supporting Jennifer and pushing right along. He was awed with the miracle of birth and immediately fell in love with his daughter. When he went over to see her, she reached out and touched her dad. It was very touching. They are all resting now.

Andy and I are running on happiness and expect to crash soon. Then we can recharge our batteries.
